Our long-time friends at Code Like a Girl have really come to the table this holiday season with this gift guide to turn you from holiday zero into holiday hero!

As a parent, or someone who buys gifts for young children, you may notice that, unfortunately, stereotypes are still prevalent in the toy market. So it’s up to us consumers to remember that toys shouldn’t have genders. Toys should be for any child with a curious mind.

Thank you to Code like a Girl’s CEO, Ally Watson, and the entire team who’ve done the hard yards and put together a list of their favourite gender-neutral toys to help your favourite kiddos grow their STEM skills and develop a limitless imagination.

Code like a Girl’s great work to encourage more women to enter the tech industry through internships, hands-on courses and events, is one of the reasons DiUS is a long-time sponsor. It’s so important for us to be moving the needle towards a diverse workforce in the tech industry, both within DiUS and our wider tech industry.

Magnetic Tiles

Magnetic tiles have exploded into the toy market in the last few years, and for good reason! Young children love discovering mathematical concepts in the world around them. These come in a range of price points and quality to suit a wide range of budgets and a quick Google search of ‘magnetic tiles’ will bring up many options for kids aged three and beyond.

Marble Run
